Denise Herbert Profile
Born in Parry Sound, Denise grew up in Foot’s Bay Ontario. At the age of 17, she left Muskoka to attend the University of Ottawa. Upon completion of university, she worked and lived in Toronto until moving to Barrie to expand DMH into an untapped market.
A Muskoka girl at heart, the pull to return to her Muskoka roots came to fruition in 2015 when she and her husband James bought a home in the beautiful Township of Seguin.
Denise’s list of accomplishments include being the Founder of DMH PR Inc., Executive Officer to the Premier of Ontario, and instructor and creator of the Public Relations course in the Advertising Program at Georgian College in Barrie Ontario.
She is passionate about education and entrepreneurship. Her search for knowledge continues to this day, has no limits, and spans many industries.
Denise grew up in a hockey home. Before she was even out of diapers, her father Roy, an avid hockey fan, created the Muskoka Mafia brand for his hockey team that he coached in the Muskoka region. Watching the Canadian World Juniors Hockey Tournament and the NHL playoffs is an annual event and despite pleas from her husband for her to stop cheering for the Detroit Red Wings, she is relentless in her loyalty for the team.
Outside of work, she spends the majority of her spare time with her close friends and family; taking every opportunity, she can to be with her niece and nephew from Barrie who she loves unconditionally and encourages to follow their passions.
Denise is always in search of the next great book to delve into and once she finds it, the speed at which she tears through the pages is otherworldly. When she is not reading she likes to get back to nature with her furry baby, a male rough collie Kane who is arguable the center of her universe, as she is his. The bond is undeniable and the two are rarely separated for too long.
Nice days are spent walking the Seguin Trail where the walks are just as much for Denise as they are for Kane. Denise also enjoys the fruits of her labours in the garden and looks forward of the prospects of enjoying these efforts as her gardens grow. She is willing to share with the local deer that graze on the property but would prefer that they stick to eating the Hostas over her lettuce.

James Lefler Profile
Born in Richmond Hill, Ontario, James grew up in a rural community just outside Bradford Ontario. After attending Western University, he was home for less than a week before accepting a job in the pharmacy and healthcare industry in Barrie.
Years later, James met his wife Denise while attending one of her business training seminars where he found himself caught off guard when he was instantly hot for the teacher.
James is known for his innovative and creative mindset and as his career advanced he moved in the Fast Moving Consumer Packaged Goods industry where his ability to generate sales, foster relationships, accelerate economic growth and reach company sales goals in a manner that seems effortless has gained him the respect and admiration of his clients and colleagues.
James is a true science guy at heart. Although these days his experiments are mostly in the kitchen versus the lab and as a result he’s proud to report that nothing has caught fire or blown up for a few years now.
When not pounding the pavement or working the phones generating sales for his clients James is happiest on the golf course searching for his next hole in one. Although, if we are being honest he actually spends most of his free time clearing pine needles from his wife’s much beloved majestic Muskoka pine trees.
He enjoys spending time outdoors building for himself or helping out a friend, renovating or building a deck or fence. His latest construction project is a screened in porch so he can safely watch the Mosquito magnet suck up the little blood suckers so his skin doesn’t look like a pincushion by the end of the summer in Muskoka.
Early mornings and late evenings are spent walking with his loyal rough collie Kane throughout the neighbourhood in Seguin Ontario with each Friday including a trip to collect our copy of the local newspaper The Beacon Star.
On a lighter note, he is also a Pisces who enjoys fishing, travelling, long walks on the beach and quiet evenings watching sunsets but that information is most likely more relevant and better suited for another website.
