What is marketing?
Marketing is the identification and act of buying and selling a product(s)
or service(s) in the market. Marketing focuses on, and is responsible for, reflecting
consumer demand and ensuring a product or service is presented and supplied
to customers and consumers-at-large how, when and where they want them, and
at a price that they are willing to pay for them.
Marketing a product or service involves the process of planning and implementing
the development of the proper place for, and pricing and promotion of a product
or service in a manner that meets both the organization's goals and objectives
as well as customer and consumer demand.
Why use Marketing
Using and applying marketing as a business building and development technique
ensures that businesses are clearly aware of where their place in the market
is, who their target market is, and most importantly, that the business has
a well researched and reliable plan of action in order to meet and exceed their
marketing goals and objectives while at the same time, ensuring that they’re
not sacrificing their customers’ needs.
An effective marketing plan identifies an organization’s strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities and barriers, their place in the market, and outlines exactly
who the target market is, what they want and everything about them. The marketing
plan consists of strategies that are developed to be implemented by a business
in order to ensure the business can effectively market its products/services
to their customers or consumers-at-large the way that they would like the product
or service made available to them, in a place or venue that they prefer to get
them, and at a price they’re willing to pay rather than what the business
thinks or wants to charge.
